When we got this fabric in by Andie Hanna, I knew that I had to make this quilt. The fabric features Hanna's beloved beavers, foxes and owls going on a camping trip. A free pattern is available here and this is what I used to sew up a very quick and easy camping quilt.
The quilt starts with using a panel and has you sewing the block so that they are tilted. This is done to make the blocks appear as if they are dancing. I like how this turned out.
Next, is the hardest part of the quilt (and it's not hard!) - making four leaf blocks.
After that, it's just a matter of adding borders. I love the end result. It's a perfect quilt to put in the camping van that I hope to one day get!
I just love the little night owls.
This quilt is also perfect to cuddle up in on cool nights after a day of picking lovely Chilliwack blueberries. What could be better!
We would love to hear in the comments what your favourite summer day includes.
